Gallatin Thesis Support Fund

In order to help support the costs associated with the development of a non-performance based thesis at Gallatin, the Gallatin Graduate Thesis Support Fund (GTSF) was created. (For support for performance theses, please see the Siff Grant application process. Please note: masters students may apply to EITHER the Gallatin Thesis Support Fund OR the Siff Performance Thesis grant program, but not both.)

Applicants must be current M.A. students in the Gallatin School, with an approved thesis proposal. A GTSF grant may be used to support the purchase of necessary equipment, travel, or any other reasonable and justified expenses required to complete the thesis. GTSF grant funds may not be used to cover expenses incurred prior to the receipt of the award. Applications are reviewed by the student’s faculty adviser and the administrative director of the M.A. program and awards range from $500 to $1,500. All applications require a project proposal and a proposed budget. The entire proposal must be submitted using this form.

Grants may be used in the fall, spring and summer semesters. Students are required to submit a report detailing how the funds awarded were used to support the production of the thesis.
