Transfer Student Orientation Week Registration

Gallatin Orientation will take place Monday-Friday, August 28-September 1, 2023 at 1 Washington Place, New York, NY, 10003. In order to ensure we are able to provide you with the information and resources of most interest to you, we ask that you complete the registration form below.  Please direct any questions to gallatin.transfers@nyu.edu.  We look forward to meeting you!

RSVP for Gallatin Orientation Events

Incoming Gallatin transfer students are invited to attend a range of Gallatin Orientation programming. You may join events individually or, if you are an incoming external transfer, join our pilot Gallatin Transfer Orientation group. 

Please either RSVP for individual events below or indicate that you prefer to join an Orientation group, where it is expected that you will attend all Orientation programming open to transfer students. 

Resource Fair and Interest Workshops
On Tuesday, August 29, Gallatin will host a Resource Fair and Interest Workshops for students interested in learning more about Gallatin and NYU resources, as well as various Gallatin academic interests. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP for these events and we will provide more information about specifics when they are available. 
Gallatin Goes to Governor's Island
All transfer students are invited to attend the Gallatin Goes to Governor's Island excursion, taking place on Wednesday, August 30 from 10:00am to 4:00 pm ET. A number of events will be taking place on Governor's Island throughout the day. More information will be provided should you choose to attend. 
Convocation
All transfer students coming to Gallatin, we cordially invite you to take part in Gallatin Convocation on Thursday, August 31 from 9:30 to 11 am in the NYU Skirball Theatre. Please indicate whether you plan to attend Convocation so that we can send you the required NYU Reads text (via downloadable PDF) and can plan to accommodate you.
Welcome to Gallatin Brunch
You are invited to attend the Welcome to Gallatin Brunch on Friday, September 1 from 11 am to 1 pm ET in Gallatin's Theatre, the Jerry H. Labowitz Theatre for the Performing Arts. Please indicate whether you plan to attend the Welcome to Gallatin Brunch so that we can plan accordingly.
As a student at Gallatin, will you be living in an NYU Residence Hall, or will you be commuting to campus from home or an apartment?

Parents/Families Orientation Session

Gallatin Parents and Families Orientation will take place 9:30-11:00am on Monday, August 28, 2023, in The Jerry H. Labowitz Theatre for the Performing Arts at 1 Washington Place. This session is designed to further inform parents about Gallatin and to introduce them to some of the School’s deans, faculty and administrators. This session is intended for Parents and Families only, so students are not invited to this session. Students will be with their Orientation Groups during this session.

 

PLEASE NOTE: in order for your parents or family to attend the Parents and Families Orientation session, they MUST register in advance using our Gallatin Parents and Families Orientation RSVP Form (please follow this link to the Gallatin Parents and Families Orientation RSVP Form) no later than Monday, August 24, 2023 at 9 am EST. If they are not registered in advance, they will NOT be able to attend the Orientation session or enter the Gallatin building. Please be sure they register EVERYBODY who you want to attend the Parents and Family Orientation session.

 

You are permitted up to 4 people to attend this session. Please indicate below whether or not you plan on having your family attend this session, and please be sure to share the Gallatin Parents and Families Orientation RSVP Form with them.
