With funding provided by the Office of the Provost to enhance faculty research at Gallatin, the Gallatin School is pleased to offer subvention grants for faculty publications. These funds cover costs incurred in the publication of monographs, edited collections, articles, or translations.
Grants of no more than $3,000 per successful applicant will be awarded. Funds can be applied toward costs incurred directly by the author(s) in the process of publishing a monograph, edited volume, or article, including assistance with obtaining permissions for images and other copyrighted materials, indexing, and costs associated with translation, editing, or design. Funds cannot be used to cover costs associated with travel, advertising and promotion, or author copies. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and awarded until funds are depleted each fiscal year.
Eligibility Criteria
All full-time Gallatin faculty are eligible to apply for a publications subvention grant. While all faculty are eligible, special consideration will go to faculty at the early stages of their career, those with book contracts in hand or articles already accepted for publication, and those who have not previously received subventions support. If you have questions about your eligibility, please contact Associate Dean of Faculty and Academic Affairs Alejandro Velasco (av48@nyu.edu).
