Gallatin School of Individualized Study Refund Policy
If you drop a course or completely withdraw from the university, your tuition and course/school based charges are subject to the NYU Bursar's Refund Schedule. Although the Gallatin School strictly adheres to the University’s policy, a Gallatin student with an extenuating circumstance that warrants a refund in excess of the University’s schedule can submit a petition to Gallatin's Refund Committee.
If your refund petition is approved by the refund committee, please be aware of the following:
- A student may petition for a refund only once during the student's academic career at Gallatin; this decision was made for your particular case, and should not be viewed as precedent-setting.
- If you are receiving financial aid, be aware that a tuition refund to your account may cause an adjustment to your aid award for the semester of the refund. We strongly advise you to contact the Office of Financial Aid (financial.aid@nyu.edu or 212-998-4444) to investigate any impact a refund of tuition may have on your financial aid package prior to submitting your petition.
