2025 Gallatin Orientation Leader Application
Please note this position is for rising sophomore, junior, and senior undergraduate students at the NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study only.
NYU Gallatin is seeking to hire up to 37 First-Year Student Orientation Leaders and 3 Transfer Student Orientation Leaders. All actively matriculating Gallatin students who have an interest in developing community and are passionate about the Gallatin School of Individualized Study are welcome to apply!
Orientation Leaders serve as role models for incoming Gallatin first-year and transfer students, and are responsible for engaging and supporting these new students in their Orientation experience. This includes participating in Gallatin Orientation and NYU Welcome activities, co-facilitating Orientation Group meetings and team-building activities, and supporting administrative Orientation programming.
Orientation Leaders are responsible for supervising and mentoring a group of 16-20 first-year or transfer students along with another Orientation Leader. After the conclusion of Orientation, there is possibility for continuing work for Orientation Leaders who wish to plan and implement Gallatin Meet-Ups (small group events/outings that take groups of 8-12 Gallatin students to various community building and social experiences across NYC).
Candidates must be in good academic standing, have excellent communication skills, a desire to serve as a leader and mentor, and an ability to engage new students in a responsible and professional manner.
