Thesis Defense Registration | Forms Administration

This form, the Thesis Defense Registration form, is used to schedule your defense with the MA Program. The form is to be submitted at least four weeks prior to the intended date of the defense and at the same time as you are submitting your adviser-approved thesis to your committee and the MA program using the Thesis Submission form.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are trying to schedule your defense for fewer than four weeks from today, it may not be possible to complete the defense in this semester due to University deadlines for degree conferral.

Each thesis committee includes three panelists who will read the thesis and participate in the thesis defense. Of the three panelists, one must be the student's primary academic adviser, and at least one must be a full-time Gallatin faculty member. If the academic adviser is a full-time Gallatin faculty member, the student may opt to ask two other non-Gallatin faculty members to serve on the committee.

It is the student's responsibility to coordinate the date and time of the defense with the committee members before submitting this form.

Gallatin Thesis Defenses may be held via Zoom, in person, or a hybrid of the two. After consulting with your committee members for their preferences, please indicate the consensus decision below:
