Gallatin Orientation Week Registration

Gallatin Orientation will take place Monday-Friday, August 28-September 1, 2023 at 1 Washington Place, New York, NY, 10003. Gallatin Orientation is a mandatory experience for First-Year students and will provide you with a substantive introduction to Gallatin’s interdisciplinary approach to education — this year the primary text for discussion at Convocation is Clint Smith’s text How the Word Is Passed — as well important information and connections you will need to thrive here. In order to ensure we are able to provide you with the information and resources of most interest to you, we ask that you complete the registration form below. You will receive more information regarding Gallatin Orientation throughout the summer. Gallatin offers various workshops, initiatives, and opportunities for connection during Orientation and throughout the year to acquaint you with the resources available to you as a Gallatin student as well as to help you create connections with others throughout the School. Interest Workshops
Identity-Based Spaces
A social space dedicated to celebrating and creating community around LGBTQ+ Gallatin students. This space is created by and for LGBTQ+ Gallatin students, staff, and faculty.
A social space dedicated to celebrating and creating community around Gallatin Students of Color. This space is created by and for Gallatin students, staff, and faculty of Color.
The Diversity Council of NYU Gallatin is committed to building and supporting a culture of inclusion, diversity, belonging, equity and accessibility (IDBEA). Its members consist of students, staff, and faculty, and is open to any Gallatin community member, regardless of identity.
As a first-year student at Gallatin, will you be living in an NYU Residence Hall, or will you be commuting to campus from home or an apartment?

Parents and Family Orientation

Gallatin Parents and Family Orientation will take place 9:30-11:00am on Monday, August 28, 2023, in The Jerry H. Labowitz Theatre for the Performing Arts at 1 Washington Place. This session is designed to further inform parents about Gallatin and to introduce them to some of the School’s deans, faculty and administrators. This session is intended for Parents and Family only, so students are not invited to this session. Students will be with their Orientation Groups during this session.

 

PLEASE NOTE: in order for your parents or family to attend the Parents and Family Orientation session, they MUST register in advance using our Gallatin Parents and Family Orientation RSVP Form (please follow this link to the Gallatin Parents and Family Orientation RSVP Form) no later than Monday, August 24, 2023 at 9 am EST. If they are not registered in advance, they will NOT be able to attend the Orientation session or enter the Gallatin building. Please be sure they register EVERYBODY who you want to attend the Parents and Family Orientation session.

 

You are permitted up to 4 people to attend this session. Please indicate below whether or not you plan on having your family attend this session, and please be sure to share the Gallatin Parents and Family Orientation RSVP Form with them.
